Welcome

I am Ann Campbell, a Trauma Recovery Coach certified with the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching. Coaching with me can help you move beyond the blocks holding you back and find a life of riotous resilience.

What is Riotous Resilience?

Have you ever seen sunrise over the ocean? It’s a riot of colour. An unbridled, always unique explosion of light and beauty. Like a spectacular flowerbed or leaves on trees in Autumn, it is colour splashed joyfully across the walls of the world. You – your personality, your dreams, your love and creativity – you are a riot of colourful potential waiting to be released.

Resilience is the ability, the elasticity of strength and courage, to stay connected without getting overwhelmed by our struggles and the things that happen to us. To soothe the wounds, find our voice and expand without fear into our full potential. To live the life we love.

Riotous Resilience is becoming YOU in all your power and splendour.

How do we work together?

I am a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach. I am a gentle hand to guide you through the worst moments and hardest challenges so you can achieve the goals you set for yourself. I support you by using both my specialised training and my lived experience of coming through the dark places. We find your own inner strength and wisdom as we work together as peers.

I offer you a safe space to find your voice, to understand the impact your experiences have had and how trauma might be standing in the way of reaching your current goals. My work with you comes from a place of deep compassion. No matter how trauma has shaped your life, I will never judge you.

Who I work with

Women and queer, poly or kinky folk who have been through the hard stuff and want to build a life they love. I strive to be an ally for BIPOC people and people from the Global Majority.

Have you experienced abuse, bullying, violence? What about isolation, discrimination, or systemic oppression? Many of us are held back by the lasting impact of experiences like these. They may happen in childhood, at work, in the mental health system, simply walking down the street. Maybe you don’t remember any traumatic events – your life has been good and you don’t know why you’re struggling. You just know that it’s hard and it hurts.

You may struggle to sleep, to work, to connect with people, to manage stress. You may be exhausted by aches and pains, by fear, anxiety, depression or distress; feeling like a lost child trying to ‘adult’ in a scary world where everyone seems to know the rules except you. Shame, guilt and loneliness may be getting the better of you.

If any of this is familiar, I can help. Let’s talk to see if you think so too.

A little about me

As a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, I am a qualified professional and peer in this journey with you. You can read some of my story and find my qualifications over here.

I didn’t set out in life to make a difference (a lot of the time I was just trying to survive). But I seem to have an inexorable need to try to make things a little fairer; to build a world that is a little easier and a little kinder. Before coaching, I had the privilege as a human rights lawyer to work for and with refugees and asylum seekers, women’s rights and LGBTQIA+ activists, and people with disabilities / disabled people. A lot of my work challenged the mental health system for hurting more people than it helps.

I consider myself astonishingly lucky because my work coincided with my pure joy at learning about different cultures, countries and people. I’ve been able to work with people from many countries – from Malaysia to Hungary to the U.S. – and to live in half a dozen countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

After nearly two decades of legal arguments and activism, my passion now is to work in a gentler, more personal way. In coaching, I have finally found congruence between my personal and professional lives, and can bring my whole self to the work with my clients. I find a humility and a delight in standing with clients and sharing what I’ve learned to help them find ease and build their freely chosen vision.

If my perspective or approach resonates with you, go ahead and book a session or a chat so we can explore how to work together.
